Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

- Daily validation of QC samples.
- Daily Environmental monitoring of effluent samples.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Perform calibrations of laboratory testing equipment.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of process, policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Quality Manager and Food Safety Specialist to ensure Regulatory and 3rd Party Compliance.
- Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair (as needed) and preventative maintenance for the following
systems: pressure jet and pulse jet fabric filter dust collectors, packed-tower and impingement plate/venturi wet
scrubbers.
- Assist with regulatory requirements to include air (e.g., Method 9, Method 22), water (e.g., SWPPP, NPDES) and
- Manage the collection, storage and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous and universal waste, spill prevention and
control, and advise staff/personnel regarding the nature of potential nonconformity and evaluate procedures for
corrective actions.
- Review technical documents to ensure their completeness and conformance to company, state and federal
- Participate in the conduct of response to environmental emergencies.
- Promote involvement in environmental management and carry out environmental educational initiatives.
- Perform indoor and outdoor work on environmental quality and control, possibly in adverse weather conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental, or related science field preferred, or minimum High School Diploma
with 3 – 5 years of related experience.
- PC proficiency to include Excel, Access, MS Word, and Outlook.
- Effective and precise communication skills to include verbal, written, and log entries.
- Solid organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet sensitive deadlines.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, FDA, BRC-GFSI, KDHE preferred.
