To continue our growth and development, we are currently seeking a motivated entry to mid-level Environmental or Geologic Technician for our Canonsburg, PA office. This is a great opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to work with both Geologists (PG) and Ecological Staff in a role that allows for exposure to a variety of geological and environmental disciplines. Job Description:
Mix of field and office work primarily related to surface water and groundwater including:
•Environmental data collection for private water supplies including wells, springs, and ponds;
•Conduct well performance tests on private water wells;
•Conduct monitoring of groundwater monitoring wells/piezometers;
•Stream flow monitoring for flow volumes, observations, water chemistry, etc.;
•Assist with stream restoration & bedrock mapping efforts, as needed;
•Water quality sampling and NPDES sampling;
•Assist with construction monitoring and density testing for geotechnical purposes;
•Assist in preparing detailed field documentation, reports, mapping exhibits, and portions of permit applications as necessary;
•Assist with communicating with clients, third parties, and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules and compliance issues;
•Assist with evaluating, analyzing and interpreting technical data.
Successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
•Have a BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline;
•Desire to conduct field work on a routine basis for both groundwater and surface water data collection;
•Field experience related to groundwater and surface water monitoring and sampling techniques and protocols desired;
•Ability to work in remote areas independently while carrying necessary field gear and walking uneven ground.
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task while organizing and implementing field work and sampling plans;
•Strong attention to detail with good judgment and problem-solving capabilities to address field circumstances encountered;
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe; and GPS data collection systems preferred;
•Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and deliver documents with a focus on QA/QC;
•Must possess a valid motor vehicle license and comply with the company drug screening policy.
