Join our innovative Transformer Service team as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer! This hybrid technical role is essential for supporting our spare parts business and proposal activities. Collaborate closely with Proposal Managers, Product Specialists, and Customers to deliver tailored engineering solutions that ensure reliable and seamless transformer component replacements. - Provide technical input, design analysis, and retrofit feasibility assessments to support the proposal team.
- Conduct engineering reviews and comparisons between legacy components and replacement parts to ensure compatibility.
- Design and customize accessories for plug-and-play or tailored retrofit solutions.
- Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, and field services to recommend cost-effective and technically sound spare part solutions.
- Perform on-site and desktop assessments of transformer fleets to identify aging patterns and replacement needs.
- Create and review technical documentation, including datasheets, drawings, and specifications.
- Participate in customer technical discussions to support proposal justification and product selection.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards while promoting continuous improvement and sustainability.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Dual-discipline or mechatronics background is an asset.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in the transformer, utility, or heavy electrical equipment sector.- Proven understanding of transformer components, including bushings, tap changers, and monitoring devices.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for mechanical design and layout of components.
- Ability to analyze legacy equipment data and recommend technically viable replacement solutions.
- Strong communication skills in English—written and spoken. French is an asset.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, customer-facing environment with multiple internal stakeholders.
