Engineering Specialist

As an Engineering Specialist

you will provide design and other technical services on client utility projects specific to Substation, Transmission Line, or Distribution Line. You’ll act as a key representative to the client and provide best-in-class service while consulting on select projects and providing technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team.

Responsibilities

- Prepare designs utilizing client standards based on input from Engineers for designs. Designs may include:

- Substation, Transmission Line, or Distribution Line

- Document and/or data management

- Verify that projects are being designed in accordance with all applicable Codes and client standards.

- Perform site visits when necessary.

- Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President.

Expectations

- Share knowledge and train oncoming Engineering Specialists/Technicians.

- Establish trust and healthy rapport with client and contract engineer firms.

- Collaborate with Management Team to foster a productive and encouraging environment.

- Timesheet entries and expenses to be appropriately applied to corresponding projects and should be submitted weekly.

Education/Experience

- Minimum

- Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent technical program required.

- 7+ years of experience in the utility industry required.

- Experience with programming and/or Microsoft Excel

- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software
