About the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mid-level Pipeline Tools Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain tools and systems that optimize our production pipelines. You will collaborate with artists, data scientists, and engineers to gather requirements, resolve complex technical issues, and improve workflow efficiency and reliability. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of relevant experience and is eager to build scalable, maintainable solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Design and development: Design, develop, and maintain tools and automated systems to streamline production pipelines (e.g., CI/CD, data ingestion, ETL).
- Workflow optimization: Enhance and optimize existing workflows to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as data scientists, artists, and software engineers, to understand their needs and implement effective tool solutions.
- Troubleshooting and support: Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot complex issues within the pipeline. Identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.
- Automation: Automate recurring tasks and integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure.
- Documentation and training: Create and maintain documentation for tools and workflows, and assist with training users.
- Code reviews: Participate in and lead code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E. or equivalent).2–5 years of experience in a pipeline, DevOps, or data engineering role.
- SolidWorks – required (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, simulations).
- Bonus: Experience with AutoCAD, ANSYS, or FEA tools for mechanical stress and flow simulation.Familiarity with pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Airflow, Harness) or build tools (e.g., Make, Scons).
- Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable systems.
- Preferred qualifications
- 3D CAD modeling and design documentation.
- E.I.T. or P.E. (Professional Engineer) license.
- ASME familiarity (BPVC, B31.3, or B31.4).
- NACE, API, or NDT-related training is a plus.
- Material selection and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Understanding of pressure vessel design, seals, bearings, and mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with pipeline flow dynamics and inspection environments.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
