POSITION: Elementary School Teacher - Grade K2 - Long Term Substitute

REPORTS TO: Principal

DATE AVAILABLE: February 10, 2026 - June 12, 2026

POSITION SUMMARY: The Elementary School Teacher - Grade K2 fulfills the mission of Saint Agatha School by providing instruction within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and policies. This position is anticipated, depending upon sufficient program enrollment.

FLSA: Exempt/37.5 hours per week, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM during the school year. This is a benefit-eligible position, depending on eligibility.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons to Grade K2 (Kindergarten) students.- Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students.- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments.- Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences in the classroom.- Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed.- Foster a love for learning by making connections to real-world applications.- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in elementary education, specifically for Kindergarten students.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field preferred.- Valid teaching certification or license in Elementary Education preferred.- Strong knowledge of the subject matter and ability to effectively teach concepts to Kindergarten students.- Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education students.- Proficiency in behavior management techniques to create a positive classroom environment.- Familiarity with educational technology appropriate to the Kindergarten grade level.- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.- Experience teaching Kindergarten students is desirable.

SALARY RANGE: $125 - $130 per day, depending upon experience.
