Electrical Control Engineer

TRS has an exciting opportunity for a talented Electrical Controls Engineer

to join our client’s growing team. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical control systems for a variety of technical projects. The position plays a key part in driving innovation through new product development while supporting and improving existing technologies.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC programming and integration for industrial applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of control systems with overall project objectives.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and automation controls.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a strong culture of health and safety.

- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for designs, testing, and quality assurance processes.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.

- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet project and operational goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

- Professional certifications (e.g., P.Eng) considered an asset.

- Hands-on experience with electrical systems design, PLC programming, and industrial automation.

- Strong understanding of power systems and control logic.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with design-for-manufacture principles and prototyping.

- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
