This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position that will report to the Solar Superintendent. As an Electrical Apprentice at Scudder Solar, you will work alongside licensed electricians and solar installers to support the installation, wiring, and maintenance of solar energy systems. This hands-on role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to learn the electrical trade while contributing to clean energy solutions. Responsibilities include assisting with conduit and wiring, troubleshooting, and ensuring all work meets safety and code standards. Apprentices will gain valuable on-the-job training, mentorship, and career growth opportunities while helping deliver high-quality solar installations to residential and commercial customers.
- Assist licensed electricians and installers in mounting and wiring solar PV modules, inverters, and related components.
- Help install electrical wiring and conduit for residential and commercial solar arrays.
- Support troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems to ensure code compliance and operational efficiency.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies on-site.
- Operate lifts, tools, and hoisting equipment under supervision.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and inventory of tools and components.
- Attend training sessions, classes, or mentorship programs as part of the apprenticeship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (for equipment/vehicle access).
- Eagerness to learn electrical trade and solar installation techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely at heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork.
