Electric Distribution Quality Assurance Inspector

LOCATION: Various cities throughout Alabama

Position is a 1099 Independent contractor

Responsible for ensuring contract compliance of distribution contractors performing construction and maintenance on the utility's electric distribution system. This position will be responsible for ensuring that work is completed safely and in accordance with the design specifications.

This position is responsible for identifying and resolving issues that could compromise the success of the project (such as design issues, material issues, contractor performance issues, access issues, customer issues, etc.).

· Ensure full compliance in safely, environmental, scope of work, work plan, progress and schedule.

· Identify and resolve material issues/shortages.

· Ensure pre-job briefings are effective.

· Monitor crew productivity.

· Facilitate the reporting of all safety and environmental incidents and any escalated customer compliant.

· Perform and document on-going QA inspections during construction to ensure job specifications are being met.

· Validate units completed for invoicing.

· Ensure project documentation such as as-built drawings and lighting, inventories are completed and submitted to the correct departments.

· Provide feedback on contractor performance.

· Ensure coordination of service and lighting outages with customer, contractor, local operating personnel, Work Management Specialists, and other stakeholders.

· Consistently observes risks present in the multiple projects underway simultaneously, (e.g. cost, schedules, workmanship, customer impact, etc.)

· Direct contractor on behalf of utility to address issues that pose the most significant risk for critical project schedules or adherence to technical specifications.

· Maintain personal involvement in issues related to contractor performance (technical, competence and/or safety related issues).

· Maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Any other duties as assigned
