Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Electric Distribution Groundman I to join our energetic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our electrical distribution infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in Carthage, MO, ensuring safe and reliable power delivery. Your expertise will help keep communities energized and infrastructure operating smoothly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist line crews with the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.

- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.

- Organize and maintain tools, materials, and work areas.

- Dig trenches and holes using hand tools and mechanical equipment as directed.

- Assist with setting poles, anchors, and guy wires.

- Assist with installation of transformers, conductors, insulators, and other distribution equipment.

- Provide traffic control when required.

- Maintain a clean and safe job site.

- Attend safety meetings, job briefings, and training sessions.

- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

- Assist during storm restoration and emergency outages.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Ability to safely perform physical labor.

- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction practices preferred.

- Willingness to learn electric utility construction and safety procedures.

- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Valid driver’s license required.

- Ability to obtain a CDL within a specified timeframe preferred.

Physical Requirements

- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

- Perform strenuous physical labor.

- Bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.

Pay: $20.75 - $22.45 per hour
