As EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety policies and programs that protect our employees, customers, and company assets. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing compliance with OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, and ISO 9001 requirements. You will collaborate closely with operations, project managers, and leadership to drive a proactive safety culture in both our motor shop and field services—ensuring our people have the training, tools, and resources they need to work safely and effectively.
· Develop, implement, and maintain company health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA, EPA, MSHA, NFPA, and other applicable regulations.
· Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all high-risk tasks.
· Lead incident and accident investigations, identify root causes, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
· Maintain emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety, spill response, and medical emergencies.
· Oversee DOT compliance, driver qualification files, and equipment safety protocols.
· Ensure all safety documentation, records, and permits are current and compliant.
· Oversee safe rigging practices, hot work permitting, electrical safety (LOTO, arc flash protection), heavy equipment safety, and confined space entry.
· Ensure EPA compliance for hazardous waste handling, spill prevention, and air emissions.
· Manage programs for lead and asbestos identification, safe handling, and abatement.
· Administer respiratory and hearing protection programs, PPE selection, and training.
· Implement machinery guarding and safe operation protocols.
· Integrate safety processes into the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
· Participate in safety-related audits and contribute to management reviews.
· Track and report safety metrics, driving continuous improvement.
· Deliver new hire and ongoing employee safety training on topics including rigging, hot work, hazard communication, PPE use, electrical safety, heavy equipment operation, confined space, and emergency response.
· Promote safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and engagement initiatives.
· Stay current with federal, state (Utah), and local safety regulations.
· Prepare and submit required reports (OSHA logs, EPA submissions, etc.).
· Manage relationships with compliance platforms such as ISN, Avetta, and Veriforce.
· Serve as primary contact for regulatory inspections.
· Conduct regular motor shop inspections and field service audits for ongoing projects.
· Maintain safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, ventilation systems).
· Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and field teams to resolve safety concerns.
· Review proposals and develop Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and PPE requirements
· Support safety planning and execution for ongoing and future field service projects.
· Travel to project sites to conduct safety audits and support field service teams.
· Provide weekly and monthly safety reporting for key projects as needed.
Shift: Days, with occasional evenings or weekends as required.
Pay Rate: Starting at $125K; Commensurate with experience
Location: Bluffdale and Magna office, on-site at customer facilities. Remote work is available one day per week.
Experience & Skills
Your initial pay rate will be based on your relevant experience and demonstrated capabilities.
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Professional on construction or industrial projects with similar hazards.
· Additional certifications in rigging, asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials management are a plus.
· Proficient in OSHA, EPA, MSHA, NFPA regulations.
· Strong background in hazard recognition, accident prevention, and safety auditing.
· Ability to travel to field service project sites as needed.
· Able to work in adverse conditions (indoor/outdoor)
· Able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
· Able to continuously perform basic physical movements such as bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and grabbing.
