The Driver & Shop Assistant will focus on assisting the Manufacturing floor and occasionally transporting VeloDyne products between the Company’s Missouri and Colorado locations. This full-time position will report to the Production Manager and be based out of the office in Louisville, Colorado.
Essential Job Functions
•Operate mainly within and manage the woodshop area.
•Basic facility maintenance, such as painting, organizing, cleaning and changing light fixtures, etc.
•Build wood crates for Company equipment that needs to be shipped. This involves the use of power tools such as both horizontal and vertical saws, impact drills, etc.
•Retrieve woodshop supplies from Home Depot, using company truck and trailer.
•Deliver and retrieve parts by and between the Colorado facility and the Missouri fabrication shop.
•Driving schedule is loosely defined as bi-weekly and thus represents approximately 20% of one’s monthly duties: one-day departure; one-day return.
•Other duties as assigned
•Comply with the Company’s safety and personal protective equipment policies at all times.
•Determine the correct tools and equipment required to perform day-to-day duties.
•Ensure all materials, tools and equipment are kept safe, secure, and in good working order.

Required Qualifications
•High school diploma or GED.
•Mechanically inclined; hands on experience working with lumber and power tools, drilling measurement skills.
•Ability to learn quickly.
•Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
•High level safety and health awareness.
•Basic computer skills and ability to use basic functions of Microsoft Office for reports and time and record keeping.
•Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette.
•Self-motivated with ability to work and think well independently.
•Strong time management and organization skills.
•Availability to work 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with ability and willingness to work flexible shifts and weekends and adapt to changing work schedules.
•Have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR will be run regularly).
Physical Demands
•Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
•Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
•Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
•Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
•Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
•Willing and able to wear PPE as required.
Work Location
•Approximately 100% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions; and
•Exposure to liquid and dry chemicals and substances associated with water and wastewater treatment, including permanganate, polymers, sodium hypochlorite, and liquid ammonium sulfate, among others.

This is a non-exempt position. The base hourly wage for this position is between $25.00 and $30.00 an hour. Compensation is dependent on skill level. Benefits package and incentives are provided.
