Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulphide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting and development on our South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. This project is part our larger South Carlin Complex which includes a prospective land package. We recently acquired the Musselwhite Mine located in Northern Ontario on Lake Opapimiskan, a gold mine with more than 25 years of operating history. The addition of Musselwhite has allowed Orla to more than double our gold production and provide a strategic entry into a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction. The Musselwhite Mine is highly prospective with potential to expand resources and mine life for years to come.

Purpose:

As part of our acquisition of Musselwhite Mine, we are recruiting for a Drilling Supervisor, Exploration. This role will be based on-site and will ensure that all drill programs are executed in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner. The Drilling Supervisor position is essential to support the Exploration team by providing technical expertise in contractor management and drilling activities.

Responsibilities include:

•

Create and maintain a proactive safety culture within the Exploration team and Drill Service Provider based on Orla standards and site procedures while using various audits to verify compliance

•

Assist with training of service providers in Orla/Musselwhite safety programs

•

Ensures safety standards and procedures are understood, adhered to, and updated to reflect company and industry best practices.

•

Provide support in all drill safety measures, including drill and equipment inspections, task observations, and hazard identification.

•

Ensure drilling Key Performance Indicator objectives set by the Exploration team are met.

•

Review monthly drilling KPI’s with service providers.

•

With the Exploration Manager prepare, plan, and present annual safety kickoff meeting with service providers.

•

Deliver training on Musselwhite Exploration onboarding to drilling and related service providers.

•

Report and investigate all Exploration-related safety incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

•

Visible front-line leader who spends quality time with the workforce in the workplace.

•

Manage Business partners through effective and disciplined contract management

•

Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships with key departments

•

Drive a culture of continuous improvement for all Exploration activities. With the help of the Exploration Manager and Orla/Musselwhite Procurement team, develop bid tendering documents and evaluate bidders for potential work.

•

Manage new contract startups, including,

•

Pre-mobilization inspections of equipment at service provider facilities

•

Facilitate workshops to ensure service providers are ready to work on Musselwhite property

•

Populate a comprehensive drilling risk assessment with service providers and review and update annually.

•

Gather, manage, and maintain service provider material required for audits

•

Conduct Pre- and post-drill site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and environmental policies.

•

Conduct and document comprehensive weekly drill inspections.

•

Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Operations to ensure alignment between the services and drill requirements.

•

Coordinating with the warehouse and directly ordering items to ensure all required drill materials/consumables are available when needed.

•

Acting as the primary contact between the Drill Service Provider and Exploration.

•

Manage contractors, ensuring compliance with written and verbal agreements.

•

Tracking and verifying timesheets and drill-related invoices. Address any discrepancies promptly with Service Provider

Management.

•

Contribution to Exploration planning sessions and procurement of required equipment.

•

Actively seek new drill technology, safe drill techniques, and best practices, focusing on all drill machinery in both Surface

and Underground environments.

•

Provide drill expertise to all departments when requested.

•

Liaise between the core facility and drill teams for any non-compliance drill core issues.

Skills and Experience:

•

Minimum Secondary Education Diploma, Post Secondary Education an asset.

•

Ontario Underground and Surface Mining Common Core an asset.

•

Experience with more than one drilling method (e.g. Diamond, RC, Dual Rotary) is an asset.

•

Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft software are required.

•

Database knowledge and experience in SAP finance software is an asset.

•

3-5 years of drill experience in a mining environment.

•

1-3 years in a supervision role of multiple employees.

•

Knowledge and understanding of government mining and drilling legislation and regulations in Ontario is an asset

•

Valid driver’s license.

•

Proven record of accomplishment in overcoming obstacles and setbacks. Understands the larger picture and can move

projects forward through adversity.

•

Knowledge of up-to-date drilling technology and industry trends.

•

Visible felt leadership in health, safety, and S&ER.

•

Experience in working with and supporting exploration activities in various cultural environments.

•

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.

•

Great interpersonal skills, innovative and proven ability to work with others.

•

Demonstrates a comfortable and confident communication style.

•

Comfortable with public speaking, setting, and running meetings in person or web-based.

•

Excellent time management skills.

Working Conditions

•

The work schedule for this position is 7 on,7 days off including travel to site, working 12-hour days.
