Roles and Responsibilities: The Drill Operator Supervisor is a vital member of our Toronto team, with high level expertise in drill operations as well as professional collaboration skills that drive a successful and productive work enviroment. In this position, you will work 12 hours daily for 14 consecutive days; then, you will have time off for the 14 consecutive days following. This position in full-time and in-person. Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
§ Supervising, scheduling, and providing instructions to a team of drillers and drill assistants at mining site while ensuring adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.
§ Liaising with Master Drilling Project manager(s) and Mine Official(s) to assist with short term planning respecting drilling schedule to meet company and client deadlines.
§ Providing daily reports to Master Drilling Project Manager(s) and Mine Official(s) regarding drilling progress, issues with respect to critical stock, or human resources.
§ Regularly reviewing equipment inventory and ordering as needed to ensure that project(s) is continued without interruption.
§ Assisting with site preparation and site setup for surface and underground drilling, as per Master Drilling procedures.
§ Reviewing drilling progress against team performance and providing feedback to the drilling team to help ensure Master Drilling reaches critical project milestones .
§ Inspecting equipment and tools to ensure that they can be safely used and supervising the preventative and corrective maintenance of Master Drilling proprietary raise bore drilling machines (e.g., RD7, RD5 and RD3) according to schedules determined by Master Drilling. Assisting with the operation of Master Drilling’s proprietary raise bore drilling machines (RD7, RD5 and RD3) as required.
§ Conducting ultrasonic and magnetic particle inspection on drill rods and parts for Master Drilling’s RD7, RD5, and RD3 raise bore drilling machines, as per Master Drilling guidelines. Minimum Requirements
§ A technical degree, or post-secondary education in engineering, geology, or a related field.
§ 5+ years of experience working in drilling operations.
§ Extensive knowledge on drilling operations, technology, processes, safety, and legal guidelines.
§ Relevant experience working as a supervisor. Compensation You will receive an annual salary of $66,560 or approximately $32/hour, with an overtime rate available after 40 hours. You will be entitled to up to 15 vacation days per year and eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. You will also be eligible for discretionary salary increases, promotions and performance bonuses in accordance with Master Drilling Canada policies.
