Greylock Energy is seeking a Drilling Engineer to work out of our Charleston, West Virginia office. As an empowered member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing drilling operations to support our exploration and drilling activities for our Appalachia and Rockies divisions.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to effectively perform the following duties; other duties may be assigned.

- Implement safe work practices and participate in a proactive safety culture that consistently prioritizes the safety of our Team Members, and the communities where we operate while also protecting the environment.

- Design, plan, and execute drilling programs in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

- Prepare RFQs, Drilling AFEs, and track CAPEX.

- Select and optimize casing, drilling fluids, cementing programs, and well control equipment.

- Optimize complex wellbore design to maximize drilling parameters and lateral length while minimizing.

- Monitor drilling operations, analyze performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

- Coordinate with geology, completions, production and HSE teams to ensure well objectives are met.

- Manage drilling contractors and service providers to ensure quality, safety, and cost control.

- Review daily drilling reports and provide technical recommendations.

- Investigate and resolve drilling issues and non-productive time (NPT).

- Support post-well reviews and lessons-learned documentation.


QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.

- 2-10 years of relevant drilling engineering experience in the oil and gas industry is required.

- Intermediate proficiency with drilling software, engineering calculations and reporting tools is required.

- Strong understanding of well design, drilling operations and well control principles is required.

- Thorough understanding and adherence to all applicable regulatory and safety requirements is required.

- 2-10 years of proven experience with horizontal drilling operations and managing complex wells is preferred.
