The Intern Drafter will assist other drafters in preparing drawing packages for issuance of offshore/onshore piping, structural and electrical design systems utilizing/training in 2D and 3D modeling software.
- Assist piping, structural and electrical groups with redline mark-ups on drawing packages;
- Assist other drafters in creating drawings for assigned projects from information supplied and verbal instructions from drafting group leaders while under their tutelage;
- Responsible for keeping their direct supervisor/group leader updated on any and all concerns relating to their respective assignments and discipline;
- Assist/learn from drafting groups to ensure that all drawings adhere to client, and/or company Drafting Standards;
- Assist/learn from drafting groups to ensure that all drawings adhere to client, company and/or industry Design Standards.
- Requires current enrollment in an accredited drafting certificate or degree program;
- Must have a basic working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
- Ability and availability to work occasional overtime to include weekends as dictated by project requirements;
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
To be considered, candidates residing outside of commuting distance to the office are required to provide a cover letter regarding their intentions to relocate to the local area and that the candidate understands that there will be no relocation assistance provided. Candidate outside of commuting distance to the office who do not provide a cover letter will not be screened for the position. In addition, the candidate’s location must be easily identifiable either on submittal documents or in the candidate’s registration in our ATS.
- Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations.
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or offshore platform atmosphere;
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
- Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels;
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

- Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds;
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
- Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
