Job Title: Engineering Intern
Department: Engineering
General Purpose of the Position:
The Engineering Intern assists with various tasks within a mechanical engineering team, supporting the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and products. They contribute to projects by performing calculations, creating CAD models, drafting sketches, and participating in project planning and testing. Interns also gain experience with engineering systems, learn troubleshooting techniques, and document their work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in designing and developing manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product / process quality.
- May participate in product testing, performance analysis, and data collection to evaluate designs and identify areas for improvement.
- Create/Modify part numbers, formulas, and prints for new products/customers.
- May participate in research initiatives and contribute to the development of new products or processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or industrial engineering principles
