VeloDyne is seeking a temporary Engineering Intern. This position will report to the Operations Manager and will support the brand’s continued growth and development in the municipal & industrial markets. This position will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering duties, such as specification review and creating detailed drawings for fabrication of parts and assemblies. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a team-centric personality and strong communication skills. The Engineering Intern would report to VeloDyne’s Louisville, Colorado location.
Essential Job Functions
- Work directly with the engineering team and project managers to provide engineering design support to meet customer needs and design specifications within budgetary constraints.
- Support all product lines offered.
- Manage standard drawing libraries for control panels and schematics.
- Review project specifications and other project documentation.
- Create models for project specific systems.
- Create detailed drawings for fabrication of parts and assemblies.
- Source and select parts based on the application including, but not limited to, pumps, motors, valves and fittings, and provides component data for entry into Made2Manage.
- Conduct appropriate research and analysis to validate design.
- Work with Engineering to develop new products for integration into project systems.
- Prepare accurate process and mechanical diagrams consistent with application and process requirements; provide essential documentation for both internal and external use, including product data sheets, drawings, bills of materials, production routings, and other project specific information.
- Attend weekly meetings with Engineering and provide project updates as required.
- Meet defined schedules, deadlines, and goals.
- Liaise with inventory and production departments to refine and improve work and provide oversight of mechanical assemblers in construction of equipment.
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and engineering.
- Quality Control guidance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BSME, BSCE or equivalent.
- Proficient in SoildWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Professional X.
- Attention to detail.
- Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette.

- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- 90% Office setting.
- 10% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, airborne and/or hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This position is non-exempt. The base hourly wage for this position is $25.00 per hour. Compensation is dependent on experience and skill level. Benefits package and incentives are provided.
