Capital Power Corporation is currently seeking an innovative and results-oriented individual to join and support our Engineering and Security teams.
Reporting to the Senior Specialist, Drafting & Document Control, the Documentation Specialist is responsible for document control, purchase requisitioning, and security functions in support of the Engineering and Security departments. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

You will contribute to our team by:
•Overseeing the document control process and acting as the filing system administration by maintaining access to confidential drawing, documentation, and the contractor management system.
•Maintaining Engineering SharePoint site management including document updates, modifications, and revision control.
•Supporting with purchase requisition coordination, entry, receipt, and payment tracking.
•Reviewing and verifying the accuracy and completeness of drawings and project documentation, ensuring they comply with internal standards and specifications.
•Providing recommendations on process and technology improvements.
•Overseeing background screening and onboarding management including criminal record checks.
•Supporting the corporate facility security system maintenance service ticket creation.
•Overseeing security access card and database management for our offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Phoenix.
•Working with project teams, including engineers, site personnel and contractors, to ensure drawings and documents meet project requirements and standards.
•Working alongside security department to assist with access card and service ticket tasks.
•Maintaining excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with various internal and external teams and stakeholders.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
•High School Diploma with Post-Secondary Administration Certificate (or similar).
•Education equivalency may be considered.
Experience:
•Good Communicator, Interpersonal skills, Customer service skills.
•Attention to detail and a focus on producing quality products in a timely manner.
•Able to deal with change, as daily focus and direction of tasks can change multiple times.
Technical Skills:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Document control experience.
•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in business related software applications such as Autodesk, AutoCAD, Vault, Oracle, Workday, DocuSign, and Microsoft Office skills including SharePoint are considered an asset.
•Purchasing & Receiving; Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks to meet deadlines.
•Should be analytical, detail-oriented, flexible, decisive, display resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
•Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
