About This Job

Lotspeich Co. of Florida, Inc. is looking for an experienced Commercial Door & Hardware Estimator to join our team. Salary is contingent on experience level. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of:

•

KD and Masonry door frames

•

Interior and exterior metal & wood doors

•

Concealed and surface-mounted panic devices

•

Closers, concealed and surface-mounted overhead stops

•

All types of commercial locks and electric hardware

Estimator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Analyzing required documents, blueprints, and project plans.

•

Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.

•

Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for products or services.

•

Creating project labor estimates.

•

Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.

•

Managing bids from vendors and contractors.

•

Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.

•

Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.

•

Compiling and recording actual cost.

•

Provide any value engineering suggestions (alternates or price breakouts).

•

Send for vendor price quotes as necessary.

•

Present completed bids and proposals on the established due dates to project managers.

•

Travel to work sites may be required to establish existing conditions.

•

Verbal or written communication with general contractor may be necessary to secure an accurate bid.

Estimator Skills and Qualifications:

•

Knowledge of OST, Quick Bid Software, Excel Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.

•

Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.

•

Analytical skills and attention to detail.

•

Report writing and strategic planning skills.

•

Analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.

•

Analytic tools such as spreadsheet and database managers.

•

Read and interpret technical documents.

•

Written communication and interpersonal skills.

•

Time management skills
