We are looking for an experienced Estimator with multi-site restaurant, retail, government, and/or residential experience to join Sevan's Construction Services team. Our Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates that will be used to develop conceptual budgets, ROM estimates, and hard bid proposals for Sevan's commercial and government construction projects. Our Estimating team operates in a fast pace, repetitive environment, to support our clients national multi-site ground up and remodel programs. The ability to succeed in a fast past, ambiguous environment is key to the success of the Estimator.


Location & Travel

This is a hybrid position, 3-4 days per week in-office in Plano, TX. Qualified candidates must live within commutable distance of the Dallas/Plano market. Travel is required on an as needed basis (0-20%) nationally.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete, subcontractor scope of works and bid packages
Create project Invitation to Bid for subcontractors on Building Connected or other bidding platforms
Review project documents to create RFI’s (Request for Information) for submission to Architect
Review project documents to determine risks to Sevan and assist Bid Leader in the creation of the Risk Register
Visit project sites and provide Sevan with a detailed site assessment using Sevan’s Capture software
Manage team in identifying qualified subcontractors and establish and maintain bid solicitation lists
Review subcontractor RFI’s to determine if they need to be included in the RFI to Architect list or if they can be answered internally
Investigate local market conditions and their effect on costs and schedule
Provide review of subcontractor quotes to assure they meet the intent of the specific scope of work and are in line with Sevan’s contractual requirements
Create and estimate sheet breaking down elements of the bid using either MasterFormat or Uniformat divisions
Write clear and concise qualifications and exclusions to proposals
Any additional duties, as assigned


Skills & Abilities:

Proven success of estimating in the government construction industry
Adaptable to taking direction from multiple teams, operations departments, and team members
Have the ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities at one time
Ability to provide quantity take-offs of building elements to determine material and labor costs utilizing computer software
Proven success as an adaptable, independent worker in a fast pace environment


Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; or
5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated skills in Preconstruction, Estimating, and Project Management
Experience in government, military barracks, or multi-family housing, highly preferred
Knowledge of Smartsheet, and Takeoff software (OST or similar), Bluebeam, Excel, etc.
Familiarity with computerized pricing systems

Pay & Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for the position is $90,000 - $110,000, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.
