The Silver Lake Water and Sewer District is currently accepting applications for the position of District Engineer.
The position manages all phases of District Capital Improvement projects including consultant selection, scoping, design and permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout.
The position also reviews and determines availability and connection requirements for water and sewer, recommends developer extension agreements for Board of Commissioners approval, performs development plan review and approval, construction administration, issues final acceptance after project closeout, and reviews connection permits. Coordinates with land use and partner agencies for permits, franchise agreements, and service agreements.
The candidate will need to be skilled in design review, project management, and general engineering; hold a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and have a current Professional Engineer License (PE), with experience in both the water and wastewater fields. Must have a minimum of eight years of public works and/or water and sewer professional engineering experience with demonstrated knowledge of mathematics, physical and engineering sciences, project management, and the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, and a total experience of three years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
