In this role, you will serve as a Hardware Engineer specializing in Siemens Energy Omnivise-T3000 systems for power generation and digitalization projects. Your time will be split between back-office engineering tasks (approximately 80%) and onsite support (20%) for installation and commissioning of control system cabinets. Key responsibilities include reviewing hardware development requirements, configuring network and OM drawings, preparing I/O databases, and managing cabinet layouts and power supply needs! You’ll also contribute to innovation by researching new solutions and automating hardware designs using AutoCAD Electrical!
- Evaluate DCS systems for new and modernization projects, including I/O list preparation and control cabinet engineering.
- Conduct site surveys, design reviews, readiness meetings, and factory acceptance testing.
- Develop and present control system concepts to customers during design reviews.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including installation work packages and loop drawings.
- Integrate field instrumentation and ensure connectivity via Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP, and Profibus protocols.
- Support heat load calculations, complex hardware design, and provide both back-office and onsite commissioning support.
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field from an accredited university; a minimum of 15 years of HW/SW engineering experience
- Strong hardware expertise with Siemens Energy gas/steam turbines and BOP HW standards
- Proficient in Siemens Energy DCS-T3000 and Siemens S7-based systems
- Skilled in AutoCAD Electrical, COMOS, and E-Plan for hardware design
- Preferred experience in DCS/PLC hardware design and controls modernization engineering
