Distribution Overhead Groundman

Job Duties And Responsibilities

- Performs various manual tasks in the construction & maintenance of overhead power lines to include digging trenches, setting poles, installing wires and transformers, performing routine maintenance checks, and assisting the lineman with their tasks.

- Assemble materials on the ground and hoist them into the work area using handlines.

- Assist other crew members filling pole holes and trench using a shovel.

- Flag traffic and set up job sites as directed.

- Maintain organization of tools and materials on work vehicles.

- Clean up and organize job sites at completion of work.

Job Requirements

- Valid CDL A is preferred but not required. Within 90 days to obtain.

- Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.

- Must be able to pass a physical examination.

- Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.

- Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.

- Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.

- Able and willing to work overtime when required.

- Understanding of the utility industry and operations.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
