Dispatcher/Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher/Manager to lead our transportation operations with energy and precision. Duties

- Lead and supervise the dispatch team to coordinate freight deliveries, pickups, and shipments efficiently across multiple locations.

- Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan routes, monitor shipments, and track fleet performance.

- Manage GPS and GIS tools for real-time tracking, route optimization, and transportation planning to improve delivery times and reduce costs.

- Oversee shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry into AS400 and other enterprise systems like 3PL platforms.

- Coordinate with logistics providers, freight carriers, and warehouse teams to streamline operations and resolve issues promptly.

- Implement fleet management strategies to optimize vehicle utilization, maintenance schedules, and dispatching procedures.

- Maintain clear communication with drivers via multi-line phone systems while practicing excellent phone etiquette.

- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, improve processes, and support supply chain decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to transportation management.

- Provide training and guidance on the use of transportation planning tools, data entry protocols, and communication standards.

Requirements

- Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination with a strong understanding of dispatching processes.

- Proficiency in GIS, GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.

- Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures and fleet management practices.

- Strong analysis skills for interpreting data related to supply chain performance and transportation efficiency.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multi-line phone systems effectively while maintaining professional phone etiquette.

- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like AS400 or similar platforms.

- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers and shipping & receiving protocols.

- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Basic typing skills for quick documentation updates during operations shifts.

- Experience working with transportation planning tools such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar software is highly desirable.
