The Dispatch Lead is responsible for overseeing daily dispatching functions, optimizing route efficiency, and supporting operational excellence across all lines of business. This position plays a critical role in ensuring service reliability by monitoring dispatcher performance, coordinating resources, and maintaining accurate operational systems.
The Dispatch Lead will work closely with route managers, drivers, and dispatch staff to align schedules, update systems, and provide training and support. Additionally, the role ensures proper reporting, system maintenance, and coverage in the event of staff absences.
- Routing new stops (with Route Manager assistance)
- Monitor completion of dispatcher tasks
- Optimize routes and monitor productivity
- Manage and distribute operations reports
- Work customer service issues
- Update dispatch display board
- Schedule and input special events
- Onboard and train new dispatchers
- Manage key labeling and route assignments
- Manage key board and inventory
- Manage tablet racks and inventory
- Update route/driver/truck information in Soft-Pak
- Cover for absences in all lines of business
- Prior dispatching or operations experience preferred
- Ability to analyze routes and improve operational efficiency
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
- Team leadership and training experience
- Proficient in dispatch systems
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and telephone
Relevant work experience may be substituted for education
The Dispatch Lead will work in an office setting with frequent interaction with field personnel and drivers. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
