We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Traffic Control Operations to lead and scale our multi-state traffic control initiatives across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. This executive-level role will focus on overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, optimizing resource allocation, and driving operational excellence across multiple crews and projects.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in managing large-scale field operations, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and collaborating with municipalities and regulatory bodies. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong sense of urgency, organizational awareness, and commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide strategic leadership over all traffic control operations across WA/OR/ID/MT.
•Oversee regional Traffic Control Managers and ensure alignment with corporate standards and project requirements.
•Develop and execute operational strategies for workforce deployment, safety compliance, and cost control.
•Ensure full adherence to federal, state, county, and municipal traffic regulations and permitting procedures.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with local government agencies, clients, and subcontractors.
•Lead continuous improvement efforts in job efficiency, safety performance, and project turnaround.
•Implement standardized traffic management plans and guidance systems across all job sites.
•Analyze project data to drive decisions on staffing, logistics, and resource optimization.
•Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
•Drive accountability and performance metrics through KPIs and operational dashboards.
Requirements
* Minimum 4–5 years of progressive leadership experience in traffic control, utilities, construction, or field services operations.
•Deep understanding of multi-jurisdictional traffic control regulations and permit processes.
•Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-location or multi-state field teams.
•Proven ability to manage budgets, job costing, and operational KPIs.
•Excellent leadership and people management skills with a focus on results and team development.
•Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel frequently within the Pacific Northwest.
•Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening.
