ViaSun Corporation is seeking a skilled Traffic Control Designer to develop Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) that ensure safe, efficient, and regulation-compliant traffic flow around construction and maintenance sites. This position plays a key role in public safety and project efficiency by combining technical expertise with practical field insight.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Design detailed Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) using CAD software in alignment with MUTCD, state, and municipal standards.
•Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and regulatory agencies to gather input and ensure practical implementation of plans.
•Review project scopes and interpret engineering drawings to identify traffic impacts and determine appropriate control strategies.
•Perform site visits when necessary to evaluate on-ground conditions and recommend design adjustments.
•Maintain documentation and version control of all traffic plans submitted for projects.
•Provide technical support to field crews during plan execution.
•Monitor changes in traffic control regulations and incorporate updates into future designs.
•Ensure strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards by integrating all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines into traffic control plan designs and reviewing updates regularly to maintain compliance across all project phases.
To qualify for this position, you should have at least 3 years of experience in traffic control design or a similar role. Proficiency in design software, strong communication skills, and attention to detail are essential.
