The Director of Service Sales is responsible for leading and directing the long-term Service Sales strategy to increase our preventative maintenance customer base and expand wallet share with all customers. This role will manage salespeople located nationally and be responsible for selling within an assigned geography. This role will partner with the Equipment and Rental sales leader to drive synergy and cross-sell products and services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Works with end-user customers to sell extended warranties and create maintenance programs that meet their needs.
- Set and implement marketing objectives that will enable us to achieve sales goals
- Set sales goals, manage activities/execution and manage the performance of salespeople at our branch offices
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Works with individual salespeople to develop their assigned market and meet monthly and quarterly sales targets & objectives.
- Lead the successful implementation strategy deployment in conjunction with the respective business group leadership.
- Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches, and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team.
- Manage organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is tracked & systematically improved.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supervising sales and/or sales support teams & developing strategic growth plans.
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in a related or similar field
- Proven track record in securing new sales, retaining current customer base, while driving growth.
- Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture.
- Appropriate negotiation & complex account management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, & organizational skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, initiative, and leadership.
- Proficiency in working in CRM and managing a sales forecast
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels, lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of the dynamics between distribution and the subsequent end-user
- Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships with distributors, with a specific preference for industrial equipment markets
- Minimum of 15 years of experience supervising sales and/or sales support teams & developing strategic growth plans.
- 15 years’ experience in a related or similar field
Compensation
: Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary for this role is $149,000 - $220,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
Physical Demands
: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
