JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Outbound Sales is responsible for overseeing a team of Commercial Energy Advisors focused on the sale of retail energy supply contracts to Commercial & Industrial customers. The Director will provide leadership in driving outbound prospecting efforts, ensuring effective pipeline development, and managing the full sales cycle. This individual will leverage deep expertise in retail energy markets, supply agreements, and channel management to deliver consistent revenue growth.
In addition to sales leadership, the Director will operationalize sales campaigns by sourcing leads, structuring outreach strategies, and implementing the CRM and dialer technologies required to successfully execute campaigns. The role requires a blend of strategic planning, hands-on execution, and performance management across both people and processes.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Energy Advisors responsible for outbound dialing and prospecting commercial customers.
- Design, implement, and optimize sales campaigns to achieve customer acquisition and margin goals.
- Source and qualify lead lists, ensuring effective targeting and segmentation strategies.
- Oversee the setup, integration, and maintenance of CRM, dialer, and related sales technologies to maximize efficiency.
- Provide training, mentoring, and direct feedback to sales staff to enhance performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Track, analyze, and report on KPIs including call productivity, conversion rates, margin per deal, and overall campaign ROI.
- Partner with internal teams (Marketing, Regulatory, Commissions, IT) to ensure alignment and operational readiness for sales initiatives.
- Monitor retail energy market conditions and competitive activity to adjust strategies and identify opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company policies, and quality assurance standards in sales execution.- 5+ years sales and marketing management experience
- Ability to plan and manage at strategic and operational levels
- Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment
- Proven ability to quickly build business expertise and drive multiple initiatives/deliverables to successful completion
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
- Could involve some lifting up to 20 pounds
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time without much movement
- Ability to work in time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines
- All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English. Spanish speaking a plus
