Job Summary
Directs and oversees materials management related functions within the organization.
Job Duties
- Oversee sourcing and purchasing, shipping and receiving, handling, inventory control, warehousing and transportation of goods or supplies
- Develop a strategy for ensuring that the organization has sufficient quantities of supplies to meet anticipated needs
- Maintain accurate and timely shipping/receiving records and inventory counts
- Assess departmental performance, identify weaknesses or risk and suggest operational changes to ensure the efficient supply and movement of goods
- Manage relationships with and oversee activities of suppliers or fulfillment partners
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
- Lead and direct the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination
- Contribute to strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management
- Establish departmental policies, practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience
