The Materials Planner ensures timely and accurate material supply across all US sites, according to commodity. The Planner will collaborate closely with other functions to ensure component supply aligns with internal and external demand and stocking strategies. This position is on the Materials team, with other planners and reports to the Materials Director.
- Ensure material availability in line with requirements, from the release of purchase requisitions to material receipt.
- Coordinate efficient material transfers between distribution center and regional sites to support inventory availability.
- Address exception messages and adjust supply plans to maintain alignment with demand.
- Serve as point of contact for commodity when urgent needs arise; develop and execute solutions.
- Communicate with sites and stakeholders to relay progress to plan.
- Promote material standardization and implement substitutions where applicable, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and regional teams for execution.
- Ensure accuracy of item master data and order statuses; identify and correct discrepancies to maintain reliable MRP outputs.
- Use historical and commercial data to improve stocking strategies and long-term forecasting plans.
- Balance inventory, cost, and fulfillment in all decisions.

- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and experience in, or exposure to, production and repair environments.
- Advanced process and product knowledge preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
- Deep understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and replenishment strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling) preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and ability to translate data into action.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to effectively influence within a matrix organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or 4 years’ equivalent knowledge experience preferred.
- APICS CPIM preferred.
