The Role
The
Director of Marketing and Communicationswill play a pivotal role in shaping Utility’s global narrative and accelerating its market presence. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated marketing and communications strategy that builds Utility’s brand, amplifies its impact, and strengthens engagement across customers, partners, investors, and policy stakeholders.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Director will serve as both a strategic architect and an operational leader, combining vision, creativity, and analytical rigor to position Utility as a trusted innovator and thought leader within the clean energy ecosystem.
Please note, while we are open to remote candidates our preference is that this role sit in our offices in Houston or Denver. Travel is required with this role - to both our office locations in the United States as well as conferences both domestic and international.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with Utility’s growth objectives and mission.
- Leadership and Culture: Inspire and develop high-performing marketing and communications capability built on creativity, accountability and shared purpose.
- Performance Optimization: Establish clear KPIs and apply data-driven insights to refine strategies, measure effectiveness, and demonstrate return on investment.
- Thought Leadership: Strengthen Utility’s voice in the global energy dialogue through earned media, conferences, and industry platforms.
- Brand Stewardship: Build and protect a cohesive, world-class brand across digital, media, and corporate platforms, ensuring consistency of tone, message, and visual identity.
- Market Activation: Drive demand generation through integrated campaigns, digital engagement, and strategic partnerships that position Utility as a preferred partner in industrial decarbonization innovation.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in B2B marketing and communications, ideally within clean hydrogen, industrial process technologies, or sustainability sectors.
- Expertise: Proven success in global brand building, digital strategy, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination capabilities.
- Leadership: Skilled at leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives across geographies.
- Storytelling: Exceptional communicator with the ability to deeply understand and translate complex technology into compelling, human-centered narratives.
- Strategic Agility: Analytical thinker capable of balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
