A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Digital Communications, or related field is required. A Master's Degree is preferred. Applicable electric utility or computer related experience may be substituted in lieu of education/certification. Required to obtain VMWare Certified Professional Certification and Microsoft 365 Certified Security Administrator within two years of employment.
Must have seven (7) years experience in Information Technology, including the installation, maintenance, operation, and/or management of computer systems, preferably at an electric utility, is required. Experience with IT System Administration is preferred. An additional three (3) years is required in this position to become proficient.
Must possess expert knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture, including virtual environments (VMware), enterprise storage, and Windows/Linux server administration. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (NIST CSF), risk assessment methodologies, and incident response management. A thorough knowledge of core infrastructure services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), system authentication protocols, and enterprise security tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection) is essential. The Director must have demonstrated knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, experience with enterprise device management platforms (e.g., MDM, UEM), a working knowledge of VOIP technologies, and demonstrated experience with data backup and disaster recovery technologies (e.g., Veeam). A strong understanding of IT governance, budget management, and strategic planning.

The Director must have superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical and executive audiences. The role requires proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and lead teams to meet deadlines, as well as strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills. The candidate must be dependable, flexible, and possess a valid SC Driver's License.
Work will primarily be conducted inside. Irregular hours during emergencies will be required. Frequent local travel within the service territory and some overnight travel required.
