Director of Information Technology

As the company prepares for explosive growth, we’re seeking a hands-on Director of IT

to build and scale our internal IT infrastructure from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can balance

strategic vision with tactical execution

. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our workforce has reliable, secure, and scalable tools, systems, and processes — without the legacy overhead of an overbuilt IT org.

Responsibilities:

- Own and scale the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, and internal support services

- Build and lead the internal IT team (starting small, growing as needed)

- Lead implementation and optimization of enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, SAP, M365, SaaS apps, endpoint management)

- Develop and enforce internal IT policies, hardware standards, onboarding/offboarding workflows, etc.

- Oversee helpdesk support, license management, hardware procurement, and service desk KPIs

- Partner closely with cybersecurity and engineering to support secure and reliable operations

- Plan and manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and license renewals

- Evaluate and implement automation tools and scalable tech solutions to support rapid headcount growth

Requirements

- 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 2–3 in leadership

- Track record of building or significantly improving IT orgs during growth phases

- Strong familiarity with SaaS management, identity access, endpoint security, and basic infrastructure (VPNs, networks, firewalls), inclusive of Energy Storage Systems

- Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on

- Experience with cloud-first, remote-friendly environments is a plus

- Excellent communicator and cross-functional partner

Bonus if you have:

- Experience in manufacturing, energy, or hardware-software environments

- Familiarity with NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks

- Been the “first IT hire” or leader during a startup-to-scale journey
