The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for overseeing the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, systems, and digital transformation initiatives. This role will play a critical leadership role in the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of a Tier 1 ERP system (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365) to support enterprise-wide operations and growth.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and hands-on experience leading full-cycle ERP deployments or large-scale ERP optimizations in a complex, multi-functional environment.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and lifecycle management of a Tier 1 ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc.).
- Serve as executive sponsor for ERP transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and cross-functional collaboration.
- Oversee ERP governance, change management, training, and user adoption strategies.
- Ensure integration of the ERP with other business systems (CRM, WMS, E-commerce, etc.).
- Continuously optimize ERP usage to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business intelligence.
- Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction for all IT functions including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data analytics, and support services.
- Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
- Drive digital innovation and process automation to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Oversee IT budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service level agreements.
- Monitor and mitigate technology risks, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity measures are in place.
- Partner with business unit leaders to understand needs and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Lead enterprise-wide projects that drive data accuracy, financial visibility, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years at a senior or executive level.- Proven experience leading the implementation or optimization of a Tier 1 ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Strong project management and change management skills in an ERP or enterprise systems context.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage enterprise-level technology programs.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Master’s degree (MBA, MIS, etc.).
- Experience in manufacturing and distribution.
- Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, Agile, and other IT best practices.
- Experience integrating ERP with CRM, EDI, business intelligence tools, and cloud platforms.
