Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Director of Asset Management to join our dynamic team at BerQ RNG, a leading Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) developer. This position requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, solid business and financial acumen, and a hands-on approach to ensuring operational and business success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management, renewable energy, and a proven track record of optimizing the performance of energy assets.

As the Director of Asset Management, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the financial performance of our growing portfolio of RNG assets, working alongside our Finance and Operations teams to ensure seamless operations and maximum performance for each asset, implementing strategic asset management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your ability to integrate knowledge across these areas will enable the company to make informed, data-driven decisions that drive operational excellence.


Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive asset management strategies to maximize the performance, reliability, and availability of RNG production assets.
Challenge operations and optimization metrics to attain the asset's highest availability and EBITDA while minimizing risk.
Lead the onboarding of new projects, developing and improving the handoff process between Development, Construction, and Asset Management teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the operational efficiency of RNG facilities.
Implement best practices for preventative maintenance, reliability, and performance optimization.
Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
Develop and execute financial strategies to enhance the economic viability of RNG projects.
Develop a comprehensive view of each facility's financial plan and performance.
Maintain and update the operating project's financial models, including investor partnerships and back leverage, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Prepare and deliver regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including farm partners, investors, regulatory authorities, and community partners.
Effectively communicate asset performance and strategic initiatives to stakeholders.
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and industry standards.
Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
Provide leadership and direction to the asset management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Communicate proactively with Asset Management leadership and team members to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
Ensure that facilities are operated with a focus on health and safety.
Present analysis, propose solutions, and make recommendations to enhance decision-making.
Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as requested.


Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
10+ years of experience in asset management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on RNG or biogas projects.
Proven track record of managing large-scale energy portfolios with a focus on performance optimization and financial success.
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Strong business and financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the renewable energy industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This position is remote in the United States, but will require up to 35% travel.
