We're seeking a dynamic Asset Manager to join our growing team and take charge of cutting-edge battery storage assets that are revolutionizing how we store and deploy renewable energy.
Ormat has set portfolio targets for Energy Storage, aiming to achieve 950MW-1050MW/2.5GWh-2.9GWh by 2028.
Position Summary
At Ormat, our Asset Manager supports the process of managing battery projects by overseeing the commercial, financial and operational aspects of the asset with the goal of maximizing value and optimizing performance and returns. Responsibilities include overseeing the financial performance of assets, managing/training junior asset managers, assisting with project hand-off/integration, as well as developing and implementing asset management strategies and analytics for each operational project.
Essential Functions
•Track KPIs to monitor and challenge operational performance metrics to achieve goals
•Create short and long-term strategies for operating assets (pre-launch) which include detailed plans for risk mitigation / hedging and forecasting revenues/costs
•Remain abreast of regulatory issues within region(s) and direct the Regulatory team on initiatives
•Formulate short and long-term strategic operating plans for each ISO, which include implementing/managing daily market strategies, anticipating structural market changes and planning for multiple contingencies
•Evaluate all operational, regulatory, and financial constraints for each battery while complying with company defined risk parameters and ISO/RTO regulatory rules
•Identify revenue enhancement opportunities, address performance related BESS root causes, and propose innovative solutions to optimize risk weighted market return across all assets
•Interface with project team to ensure the smooth transition of projects into commercial operation
•Maintain the integrity and accuracy of operational contract compliance tracking systems by reviewing and summarizing deliverables of contracts and other project documents
•Prepare reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) to illustrate portfolio performance and metrics
•Aid in the development of information sharing, including populating historical records and archiving of relevant documents

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
•Bachelor’s degree in related energy field, finance, risk management, engineering, applied mathematics or business operations
•3-5 years of related technical or management experience in similar field such as finance, project management, gas utilities or independent power producer
•Ability to perform data analysis and identify opportunities
•Ability to create PowerPoint presentations and clearly articulate ideas
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and various other programs
•Strong management skills in building consensus
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
•The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor for long periods of time and stay alert
•Must possess a valid state driver’s licens
