This leader is responsible for overseeing capacity sales, identification and integration of new business opportunities, creating value in structuring commercial transactions, and maximizing revenue of the area portfolio of assets. This highly visible role will require analytic, energetic, innovative, results-oriented individuals with quick and inquisitive minds. Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of developing and closing multi-million-dollar transactions. Must possess a broad range of financial and commercial skills, be capable of managing the details of complex transactions, can work within a team-oriented environment in rapidly evolving markets, and be able to handle multiple assignments. Preferred experience with interstate natural gas pipeline and storage assets and/or natural gas marketing and trading.
- Assists with market analysis and development of strategic initiatives
- Develops relationships within natural gas industry
- Leads/manages execution of commercial strategy for portfolio of assets
- Structures value-creating transactions and partnerships
- Leads negotiation of complex transactions with counterparties
- Coordinates with internal staff and external groups to create and capitalize on commercial opportunities
- Communicates strategic initiatives and ongoing management activities within the portfolio to senior management or customer representatives
- Integrates plan for ongoing commercial operations and new project development across a dynamic market environment
- Leads team and develops new team member capability
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, business or economics discipline
- At least ten (10) years of relevant work experience
- Experience with an energy company, consulting firm, trading company, or investment bank focused on natural gas sector
- Strong analytical, planning, organization, time management and problem-solving skills
- Effective in self-management of time with a demonstrated personal commitment to work
- Able to identify value-creation opportunities and strategies
- Commercial background and familiarity with all aspects of structuring commercial transactions in the energy industry including negotiation of related commercial and financial agreements
- Strong project management skills
- Work well as a leader of large company team, and successfully close complex energy and/or asset related contracts
- Expertise in natural gas market fundamentals and strong understanding of drivers of natural gas pipeline transportation path values
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to analyze and communicate complex transactions to senior management
- Must be able to travel as necessary
- Demonstrated experience working with FERC regulated natural gas regulations and Tariffs
- Experience in natural gas trading and associated markets
- Experience in US upper Midwest natural gas transmission markets

While working at an operations or project site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, uneven or steep terrain and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but may become loud at the project site.
