Oversees the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of power generation facilities by providing strategic leadership in plant operations, maintenance, fuel procurement, and regulatory compliance, while leading cross-functional teams to enhance performance and ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards.
The salary range for this position is $158,546 - $237,819 , and the final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications as they relate to the role.

- Develop, administer, and monitor capital and O&M budgets to support generation goals while maintaining cost control and operational efficiency. *
- Ensure the maximum availability of all equipment at all Power Stations by:
- Ensure maximum economy of operations by monitoring unit efficiencies and optimizing operations to meet dispatching requirements. *- Assure safety in the execution of operations and maintenance activities by;
- Ensure all generation facilities operate in full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. * - Coordinate with internal environmental teams and external agencies as needed. *- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure optimal use of labor, equipment, and financial resources across all generation sites.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of services and materials. * - Ensure power station operations comply with all insurance requirements by monitoring standards and implementing corrective actions as needed. * - Ensure comprehensive emergency response plans are established, regularly updated, and effectively communicated to all personnel to maintain readiness for operational or safety incidents. * - Oversee fuel supply management and ensure the accurate and timely submission of all required federal regulatory reports. * - Foster a high-performing and motivated workforce by ensuring equal opportunity in hiring and promotion, supporting employee training and development, and administering performance evaluations and discipline fairly and consistently in alignment with Board policy. *- Denotes essential functions of the position.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5 years related work experience in coal-fired electric generation
- An equivalent to 10 years of technical experience in a coal-fired power plant operations and 4 years in management, with post-secondary education preferred
Applicants must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Possess extensive interdisciplinary knowledge in operations and maintenance aspects of coal-fired power plants
- Knowledge and understanding of power plant theory of operations
- Required expertise in planning, scheduling, and multitasking across diverse issues, and effectively engaging with both union and non-union employees.
