BayWa r.e. Americas is seeking a Director, Asset Manager to join our IPP team. The Director, Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial, maintenance and operational performance of a portfolio for our solar and wind farms under their respective Asset Management Agreements. This role combines strategic asset management, contract oversight, financial optimization, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the long-term success and profitability of renewable energy investments.

- The main overall responsibility is to ensure operating project earn as much revenue as possible.
- Develop market knowledge, becoming the resident expert in how the respective project’s electricity market is structured and how to optimize assets within that market, including real time and day ahead participation, REC sales, and ancillary product sales.
- Coordinate with Technical Asset Management and the ROCC to ensure smooth operations and optimal financial decisions regarding operating assets.
- Develop longer term off-take structures such as hedges and PPAs, in conjunction with the Commercial Team.
- Prepare and/or review financial results and explain major variances.
- Contract management of third-party commercial contracts as they relate to operations.
- Produce daily, monthly, annual and other reports as needed for a variety of audiences.
- Familiar with NERC / FERC reporting and compliance.
- Owner and investor reporting.
- Evaluation and transaction support for both acquisition and disposition of operating assets.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- 4-year Degree in “B.A./B.S.”, or equivalent, graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven years experience in the energy industry, with positions in Commercial Asset Management, Trading, Risk Management.
- Experience with tax equity transactions and related reporting requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state and federal government regulatory requirements related to wind and solar development and operation.
- Good understanding of day ahead market and settlements.
- Experience in analyzing and monitoring programs.
- Knowledge of sources and utilization of publicly available weather data sets.
- Proficient knowledge of general solar/wind farm planning, construction and operation requirements.
- Excellent computer skills of MS Office (especially MS Excel, including the use of MS Basics and macro programming tools and MS Access, SQL database and query scripting, SCADA hardware and Software).
- Well-organized and structured.
- Detail and quality oriented, while managing multiple work tasks towards goals and deadlines.
- Strong professional, technical, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel (air and land); position includes some travelling.

- Total compensation package dependent upon a number of factors, including candidate’s professional experience, candidate’s skills, position’s seniority level, department’s hiring budget, and position’s location.
- The salary range for this role is 185,000-220,000. Competitive annual bonus target based on individual and company performance.
