Summary
The Asset Manager is responsible for the overall management of all commercial and operational activities required of assigned customer renewable energy projects, asset management and related agreements. Acts as the point of contact for customer interface managing required coordination of internal and external communications and tasks required with all entities associated with the project to support project owner asset optimization, regulatory compliance, commercial agreement compliance, and financial activities. Oversee the preparation and approval of budgets, proformas, and other financial services. As a working lead position, also responsible for coordination of tasks and assignments as well as on-the-job training and advising more junior members of staff as a subject matter expert.
Primary Duties
- Manage the execution of assigned customer(s) Asset Management Agreement Scope of Work
- Monitor and track project deliverables, tasks, and obligation to ensure contractual and local, state, and federal regulatory compliance is met timely
- Prepare periodic customer reporting packages (monthly, quarterly, or annual). Reporting packages include but are not limited to operating data, financial data, energy production data, assessments of actual vs. budget, variance analysis, including weather adjusted models.
- Oversee renewable energy credit program participation for project owners including communicating and coordination with Renewable Energy Certificate Tracking System North America entities and Qualified Reporting Entities (QRE), in order to ensure timely recording of generation, minting, and sales processing to ensure all contractual commitments are met. Work with customers to optimize the renewable energy credits (REC) monetization strategy.
- Develop as required business plans, financial and production models, and business economic opportunities to improve project economics
- Serve as a key owner interface with project O&M providers, off-takers, investors, partnerships, FERC, NERC, regional ISOs, EIA, and other stakeholders
- Provide oversight of O&M providers and/or support operational data analysis as a part of project reporting
- Support customers with portfolios that have complex deal structures and utility-scale projects
- Maintain consistent communication with internal departments and coordinate cross-functional activities to uphold asset profitability, contractual compliance, and resolve customer issues.
- Maintain company’s asset management software through the onboarding process of project information and compliance requirements
- Ensure timely reporting, billing, and other project/portfolio obligations
- Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports as requested
- Review and manage contractual and project/portfolio related documentation
- Provide training and expertise/subject guidance to more junior staff members, including new employee orientation
- Assist Senior Management in developing new business opportunities as requested
- Perform other duties as requested
Working Relationships
The Asset Manager reports directly to the Director, Solar Asset Management.
Compensation
The initial compensation range for this position is $91,000 to $122,000
Education And Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, financial, and/or technical renewable asset operation
- Years of Experience: 10 years’ experience in the renewable energy asset management field with strong demonstrated technical, organizational, and managerial capability, or an equivalent amount of experience in a related work field; experience must include management of multiple clients and client deal structures.
- Licenses/Certification:
- Experience with reviewing, understanding, and executing requirements in renewable energy commercial agreements and financial contracts
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on spreadsheet and database skills
- Ability to manage multiple customer asset management agreements
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on an independent basis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- This is a full-time position that requires 40 working hours per week. Additional time may be required during heavy workloads or to meet deadlines.
