Job Description
Grattan Line Construction Company is seeking a motivated and hardworking Mechanic to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to enhance their career in the mechanical field with a company that offers a strong benefits package and competitive pay. A lot of overtime and on-call work available at premium rates (1.5x wage and 2x wage). 40 hours not required to qualify for 1.5x and 2x hourly pay for certain emergency repair / on-call tasks. Wide range of salary pay due to willingness to work optional overtime. CDL needed for top end of overtime work.
Responsibilities:
•
Perform routine vehicle services on a variety of company vehicles including pickup trucks, bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, and trailers.
•
Change tires, service brakes, change hydraulic lines, and replace batteries.
•
Experience with Cummins and Maxxforce engines preferred.
•
Perform Engine, transmission and chassis repairs
•
Various Hydraulic Repairs
•
Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in safe and reliable condition.
•
Assist with other mechanical and maintenance tasks as needed.
•
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
•
High school diploma or equivalent.
•
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with our 4 other fleet mechanics
•
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
•
CDL A or B preferred
Work Environment:
•
Majority of work to be performed in assigned climate controlled garage bays.
•
Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
•
Regularly required to lift and move heavy objects.
