Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Welder to join our team. This full-time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, and automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting, with the ability to work on a variety of industrial and construction equipment. Experience with heavy equipment operation, schematics reading, and vehicle maintenance is highly valued. - Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks using various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Maintain and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
- Read and interpret schematics for electrical systems, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical layouts
- Conduct preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Troubleshoot issues related to HVAC systems, shocks & struts, alignment, tires service, and other mechanical components
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment or parts as needed
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician; dealership experience is a plus
- Strong welding skills with knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Familiarity with excavator, crane operation, forklift maintenance, and farm machinery repair
- Ability to read schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and tire service
- Experience with automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance including brake repair and alignment
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members as needed
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to diesel engine repair or welding are preferred but not mandatory
