We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at AggieTech Energy Services located in our Hobbs, NM location. This role is crucial for maintaining our fleet and ensuring optimal performance, contributing directly to our mission of delivering exceptional service.
Job Description: Maintains diesel/gas equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; adjusting and alignments; keeping records.
- Prior diesel mechanic practical experience, or combination of education and experience, required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/Technical School certification preferred. ASE certifications preferred.
- Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
- Basic computer skills preferred, we use computers to complete service and part orders
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Willingness to work in non-climate controlled environments are required
- Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete AggieTech Energy Services, LLC employment application, submit to a background investigation to include past employment, education, criminal history, driving record and drug screening are required.
- Clean driving record required

- The associate must regularly lift and /or move up to 25lbs/12kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Bilingual preferred but not required
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine repairs on different manufacturers' engines and engine lines
- Strong working knowledge of electrical diagnostics and repair procedures
- Working knowledge of fleet mate systems.
- Class A CDL desired but not required.
- Conduct general maintenance and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles.
- Able to perform and complete DOT inspections
- Able to inspect troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair brakes, minor electrical issues, and air conditioning issues
- Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair wheels and tires
- Ensure that all repairs and PM's are completed according to the manufacturers and ATES logistics specification and guidelines
- Able to conform to shifting priorities, responsibilities, strategies, demands and timelines
- Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, manage time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Must be able to work independently
- The Diesel Mechanic may be asked to participate in other related tasks or activities which management determines his/her skills would be useful or needed
- Work week may exceed 40 hours per week
- Own tools preferred not required.
