Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic with specific expertise in concrete mixer trucks to join our fleet maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered concrete mixer trucks, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our fleet.

Duties

- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, specifically for concrete mixer trucks.

- Inspect and service mixer drums, chutes, water systems, hydraulics, and associated components.

- Conduct regular preventive maintenance (PM) on trucks to minimize downtime.

- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues related to concrete mixers.

- Maintain service records and ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.

- Work with drivers and dispatch to identify and prioritize repairs.

- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for custom repairs on mixer trucks.

- Operate diagnostic tools and software to evaluate and reset fault codes.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics preferred.

- 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience; experience with concrete mixers (Oshkosh, Terex) highly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulic systems, and truck electrical systems.

- Proficient with diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and power/hand tools.

- CDL Class B (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.19 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
