Diamond Drill Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diamond Drill Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing diamond drilling equipment used in mineral exploration and mining operations. Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diamond drill rigs and related heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems using schematics, OEM manuals, and diagnostic tools.

- Conduct fabrication and assembly of parts or modifications to improve equipment functionality or adapt machinery for specific project needs.

- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely during maintenance or repair tasks.

- Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and repair reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.

- Assist in the calibration and alignment of drilling components to meet precise specifications.

- Support the training of team members on proper equipment operation, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

- Must have secondary school completion.

- Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate

- Previous experience working as a diamond drill mechanic.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly of industrial equipment.

- Experience repairing heavy machinery such as dozers, skidders and fork lifts.

- Skilled in automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, brake repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brake systems.

- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with vehicle maintenance and tire service is a plus.

- Knowledge of electrical systems related to heavy equipment; ability to interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.

- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in challenging outdoor environments; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.

Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
