Derrick Hand/Floor Hand

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Derrick Hand to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The Derrick Hand plays a crucial role in the drilling process, primarily responsible for managing the drilling rig's derrick and ensuring safe and efficient operations. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, heavy equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain the derrick equipment during drilling operations.

- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of drilling rigs.

- Monitor drilling parameters and make adjustments as necessary.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards on-site.

- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues.

- Collaborate with the drilling crew to ensure smooth operations.

- Handle heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and tankers, as needed.

- Assist in horizontal drilling and pipeline installation tasks.

- Perform digging tasks as required for site preparation.

Requirements

- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in oil rig operations preferred.

- Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques and pipeline installations is a plus.

- Valid driving license is advantageous for transporting equipment.

- Experience operating heavy machinery, including forklifts and tankers.

- Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations related to drilling operations.

- Ability to work in challenging environments while maintaining focus on safety.

- Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to achieving operational excellence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.73 - $33.39 per hour
