Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, cabling, and networking equipment, as well as excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients.
Duties
•Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and networking equipment within the data center.
•Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on servers, routers, and switches.
•Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and power tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
•Manage cabling installations including Cat5 and Cat6 cables to ensure proper connectivity.
•Support VoIP systems and assist with telecommunication needs.
•Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
•Document all maintenance activities and updates in the system for tracking purposes.
•Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Experience
•Proven experience working with computer hardware, networking equipment, and cabling systems.
•Experience in a data center environment or similar technical support role is advantageous.
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
•Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both technical staff and non-technical users.
