About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Network Technician to support a critical technical operations environment. This is a full-performance role responsible for monitoring and maintaining a large-scale LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
You will work hands-on with various types of networks—including point-to-point, wireless, VPN, and campus-wide configurations—while ensuring high availability and reliability of voice and data circuits.
Key Responsibilities
•Monitor and maintain a diverse range of networks (LAN/WAN), including wireless, VPN, and agency-hosted systems.
•Track and troubleshoot network issues using tools such as ServiceNow and other network management systems.
•Recognize alerts, alarms, and faults, and take immediate corrective actions to ensure service continuity.
•Create and manage incident reports, service requests, change requests, and configuration updates accurately in ServiceNow.
•Analyze network performance data to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
•Collaborate with technical teams for preventative and corrective maintenance.
Required Skills
•Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
•Experience or familiarity with managing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks.
•Ability to interpret and respond to alerts, faults, and performance reports.
•Strong organizational and documentation skills, especially in using ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
•Comfortable working in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays.
Certification
•CompTIA Network+ (Required)
Work Schedule
Training Period (2–6 weeks):
•1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Post-Training:
•3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
•Must be available to work every 3rd weekend
•Availability for holiday shifts is required (24/7 operation)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
